Hands up those with a sweet tooth? Me too! Do you find it difficult making a choice between the oh so many different sweet treats on offer? Well, this post is just for you. 5 of the best Sweet treats coming your way.
5 Senses Cafe – Banana French toast and a flat white – $15.20
First sweet dip into the treat ocean is this epic French toast from 5 Senses Cafe, downstairs next to Harris Scarfe. Although the menu has brekky finishing at 11am Mon – Friday, we were informed on seating that we could indeed order anything from the breakfast menu. So, French toast with toffee salted nuts, caramelised bananas, fresh strawberries and maple syrup was ordered. To go with, the locally roasted 106 blend coffee was a good match. Not too heavy, not too light. Not too sweet, not too salty. Just right.
Look, I’ll admit this went over the $15 limit (which is literally the whole point of these posts) but at $15.20 this is a big meal and was definitely worth splurging an extra .20c 👍🏻
The Coffee Club – Gooey Cake, Salted Caramel Frappe – $12.90
Sweet treat number two is a doozy. Salted caramel malteser frappe with an oozy doozy gooey cheesecake from The Coffee Club. This is taking the matching of caramel coloured desserts to the next level. But in a good way, not in a 70’s kitchen cabinet and lino way, don’t you think? Best shared between two if you really like your friend. If not, finish the lot, I dare you.
A big hit of salted caramel sugary delight for $12.90. An excellent deal.
Espresso Room – Salted Chocolate Ganache tart and a flat white $10.80
It’s time to get a little bit tarty, and Espresso Room is just the place to do it. A salted chocolate ganache tart with a marvellous mug of flat white, should do the trick to cheer you up as you spend all your hard earned money over this festive season. Just enough of a pick me up to get you through the checkout line at Kmart.
And at $10.80 this sweet won’t break the bank either. Which leaves more money to spend on gift vouchers at EB Games.
Cherry Beans Cafe – Creme Brûlée and chocolate Belgium milkshake $13.10
Quite the Instagrammable share table at Cherry Beans cafe, opposite Coles on the upper mezzanine. A neat little creme brûlée and a Belgium chocolate milkshake satisfies but doesn’t overwhelm the sweet tastebuds. The Cafe specialises in using good quality melted chocolate for all their chocolate drinks. $13.10 for this quick little morning tea break from work.
Caffe Luxxe – Mars Bar cheesecake and flat white – $9.80
Lucky last, number 5 is continuing the smooth ride into cheesecake station, this time with a Mars Bar cheesecake and a flat white from Caffe Luxxe. And they up the ante here with fresh strawberries and ice cream, because every gal needs a little more sweet with her treat. This is a real smooth operator, this one. And look at that sweet little mint leaf. Who says you can’t make friends with salad?
At $9.80 it’s the cheapest dessert in town. And Barista Max makes the meanest flat white on the lower level.
I’ll be having some sweet dreams to-night!
